Last year I told you about this - and it seems that others have taken this same road - you can read about them here and here.
So what will it be? What do you want this New Year to *be* for you? In what way do you want to impact others next year - to really make a difference? In a word.....who do you want to be in 2010?
I would like to start the year off with a contest - everyone who leaves their *word* in the comments here will be entered into a drawing for a necklace with their word on it...like this.
I will draw a name on January 7, 2010 - that gives you ONE WEEK to ponder this....
What do you think? Are you game? At that time I will also unveil my word - I need time to think about it too!
I am excited to hear from you - to be inspired by you.
Thank you for taking the time to visit me this past year - for hanging with me as I navigate this world of blogging......
Wishing you a Happy and a Blessed New Year!
Your friend,
Pammy

Many words come to my mind; peaceful, joyful,blessed,passionate...but the one I am going with is the one Paul used in Phil 4:11-"I have learned to be content in whatever circumstances I am". CONTENT is my word.
ReplyDeleteI pray God blesses you and your family abundantly in 2010!

I have so many friends who do this...My word last year was Hope, and living with the intention really did make a difference! We are much more hopeful this year than we were this time last year! Haven't really had time to think about my word for this year...Hoping my word will find ME!
ReplyDeleteHere is the link to my friends blog who also does this: and she has hundreds of readers, and they ALL leave their word in her comments :)

joy- i have one of your beautiful glass peices with the word joy on it hanging in my guest bath
ReplyDeletePam: I love that so many people are naming their years ala "one word" This year my word is INTENTION. Gradually over the years I've slipped into sleep-walking through my days. I am looking forward to making each day of 2010 a mini celebration consisting of good food choices, exercise, reading, prayer, and being with friends. Of course I also want this to be a year of living intentionally on the creative scene. At times I will choose the Best over the Good, but I have the freedom to give myself a break and choose the Good. Love you my friend! Merle
ReplyDeleteDear Pam,
ReplyDeleteOne word pops up immediately in my mind; *Tolerance* We all need tolerance more than anything in this world. A willingness to let others have their own beliefs...
Just turn on the news and you will notice the lack of it in our world today.
I wish you a beautiful New Year!
Ellen
JOYFUL
ReplyDeleteTo find joy in each day.
To find joy in relationships.
To find joy in worshiping the Lord.
Be be joyful.
With so much heartache and worry and gloom round about...I want to Be Joyful and Share Joy.
To be a conduit to others of the joy I feel.
(I don't have a life free of worry and heartache - but I do FEEL joy - now to share that...and more earnestly seek it.)
Yip that is the word.
JOYFUL
Pam, thanks for all of your inspiration. I have enjoyed your comments and those of your beautiful friends. The word that I have to live by no matter what the year or the chaos that surrounds me is "acceptance". Acceptance is my key to happiness.
ReplyDelete"To accept what has been and IS and what will be. To be able to stand immoveable and unshakable as a mighty rock that does not complain nor wince out loud. To be able to accept everything and still stand is to truly possess great power. It is when things have already been counted as lost that all things rise yet again to be gained." Jocelyn Soriano

Hi Pam!
ReplyDelete"Serendipity" has always been a favorite of mine! What a great way to enter into 2010...the thought that something positive will always cross your path!

My word for this year is contentment. Thank you!

The word that choses you???? My word would have been healing, Hawaii, skinny, creative, author, but I have been pondering, thinking, and praying about 2010 for days. Wanting to leave my illness in 2009 and walk away dancing. But two days after Christmas I was so sick we had to start treatment all over. It is in bones. Darn it anyway ...pity party yelling for me to join but that isn't my DNA ...pity parties are only for one person and I don't like those. Opened up facebook and there was a person who needed prayer...so I laid my hand on the screen and whispered their prayer request to God. And then God spoke back to me..your word for 2010 is prayer...it is something you can jump into everyday. It gives me joy and gets me out of my body. A body which screams with pain and doesn't like much but it does well when I pray for others. Funny how that works. But here is my request if I win: Could one side say prayer and the other side giggles? Because in the midst of it all....God gives me giggles everyday. It is the one prayer I pray for myself everyday. And it is rich and beautiful when I laugh...I know God hears. Bless u my friend and I pray you giggle today too...Beth Anne Johnson...
ReplyDeleteMy word is Radiant. Thanks Pam
ReplyDelete"LISTEN"
ReplyDeletelisten to people - how can you support them if you aren't a good listener?
stop & listen to the sounds around you - you can get joy from the sounds of giggles, laughter, crying, music, conversation...; sounds of nature (birds, rustling leaves, the quiet of falling snow...); sounds of work (at home, work & in the community)
Listen - so we can become better servants of our higher power....

"Miracles" My prayer has been and continues to be this year ... is for a couple of miracles in our family!! :-D
ReplyDeleteWell Pam, I do not qualify to be a part of your contest because I am copying Merle. I kept telling myself that's not how it works, but actually there doesn't seem to be a proper procedural manual for this. I kept coming back to INTENTION / INTENTIONAL. I have spent too many years following the same old rut (spelling?) and thinking it's going to get me to a different place (health weight, deeper walk, richer prayer life, cleaner house), but I realize now, those things only happen if I am intentional about making them happen!! I have loved reading everyone's post & I think I am going to try to giggle more often for EXTRA CREDIT on this assignment ;0)
ReplyDeleteLooks like you have not blogged in a while, but just wanted to let you know I was thinking about you and wanted to wish you and your family a happy and blessed Easter.
