may the fourth be with you.....

All this week I've been enjoying all of the patriotic images and vignettes my fellow bloggers have been sharing.

Like this from Zueeuz:
or this from Mamie Janes:
or this from Hummadeedledee:

They are all beautiful.

They are all inspiring.

They are all fabulous.

But my family flys its patriotic colors in a whole other way....

We were invited to our friends Marilyn and Terry Cooper's home for their annual 4th of July Big Blast Contest.

We were told that there is a traveling trophy for the person who brings the most outrageous firework.

Dennis told Marilyn that he would sit back this year and be an observer (since it was our first time).

Marilyn called Dennis a weenie.

Nobody calls Dennis a weenie.

I'll let the pictures speak for themselves....

(now settle down....this was a doll I saved for my future grandchildren to play with - it creeped them out)

a little trip to the Indian Reservation....
Meet BIG A** BABY.
(yes. that is a fuse coming out of her mouth.)

The evening began innocently enough.....
The lovely Marilyn Cooper with Ruby and Vivian.

I just love Lake Coeur d'Alene.
sorry about the weird exposure - I was experimenting with a *night time* setting - bad move.

Let the games begin....
Big A** Baby went first.

Need I say more?

Don't get me wrong...there was some stiff competition.
Our hosts Marilyn and Terry Cooper with The King's Ransome.

There was The Grizzly, Rage, Sea Monster and Driving Miss Crazy.

All worthy opponents.

The voting began...

a winner was picked....

to be engraved.....
A HUGE thank you to the Coopers for one of the most memorable evenings we've ever enjoyed!
See you next year for.....

  5. OMG! First, thank you for the nod, I loved that folded flag in the glass door as well.

Love the Creepy Big A** Baby! Laugh out loud hilarious! Tell me, how does one get invited to this bash? Can't hardly wait to see what he comes up with next year, the bar has definitely been raised!
