a little unfinished business to take care of before I leave...

I leave today (!!!) for the Remnants of the Past Vintage Show, in Nipomo, California.

Before I go I want to leave you with a couple of thoughts...

Remember when I was working on  this?

Well........the Susan Branch ornament has been unveiled...

...get 'em while they're hot!

Also, my friend Judy Watkins said the nicest things about us HERE.

I thought I might add that we are still awaiting the launch of the brand new Pammy's Attic website. We are putting the final touches on it - tweaking it here and there - and want it to be ABSOLUTELY PERFECT before we let 'er go.....
BUT....(now you have to trust me on this)...it will be well worth the wait, and we have the greatest, most fun contest to celebrate.

With the BEST prizes.

I'm just sayin'....

So hang in there with me, and I'll let you know when our launch date will be.

And please stop by Remnants of the Past, October 2, 9am-4pm....
 and say hello.

Ta ta for now! (no pun intended....)

Lady TaTa....walking for a cure.

So two days ago my friend Michele emailed me to ask if I wanted to walk in the local Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure.

Michele is a breast cancer survivor.

This disease has profoundly affected her, and she knows how much it has also touched my own life.

You see, back in June, I started walking daily with another friend, Dorene, who has struggled with breast cancer for many years.
Dorene and her beloved Sadie
She thought she was out of the woods, but two years ago a routine scan revealed her cancer had reappeared.

In June, she went through a procedure where it was discovered that the cancer had moved into her lungs.

Dorene was told to walk every day to keep her lungs strong and to keep them from filling up with fluid.

And I needed to lose weight.

Since early June, Dorene and I have rarely missed a day of walking. We started just walking down to the corner and back - we are now up to an hour a day.

Some days she doesn't want to go - and some days I don't.

Sometimes we talk about the disease, but we usually talk about our families, the weather, our beloved dogs (we're both nuts about our pups!), and anything else that friends usually chat about.

Recently it has become more of a struggle for Dorene, and she has been forced to miss some walks.

You know, I didn't know Dorene very well when we started our daily routine. She was a neighbor (who I happened to like a lot) in need of a  friend.

She is now an important part of my life.

So when Michele asked me if I wanted to join in our local event I jumped at the chance to support ANYTHING that might put an end to the disease that was robbing my friend of years of her life.

We needed a team name.

My husband Dennis came up with Lady Ta Ta....brilliant.!

We needed team shirts.

Time to whip out my new toy....

A picture is worth a thousand words:
I came up with this design.
I put both front and back on one screen to save $$$ and time! (I taped one off while I printed the other)

burned screen...

ready to print!

back first...

ready for Team Lady Ta Ta!
A couple of other friends asked to join our team - Barbara, who has become a second walking partner, and Vicki, another supportive friend.

Tomorrow's the big day!

Stay tuned for pictures of this wonderful event....

Thinking of my our friend.....
with so much love....

it's that time of year again...!

In one week we will be leaving for California and the wonderful Remnants of the Past Vintage Show.

If you are within a day's drive of Nipomo, California, you need to go to this show.

I'm not kidding.

Not only is it the MOST beautiful setting....

...but it attracts the best antique dealers from all over the country.

...and you positively MUST meet Judy Watkins, the Wonder Woman who puts it all together.
...here is Judy W. with Judi P., owner of this property (and one of the nicest people you'll ever meet...)

Two lovely Judies.

Did you know that Rachael Ashwell will be there?

The very woman who coined the phrase, "Shabby Chic".

She will be signing her latest book:

And you must meet Carol and see buy one of her fabulous pumpkins....
like this one I brought back with me on the plane last year...

And of course, Kriste will be there....

my partner in all of this madness....

Speaking of.....

these will be there:
and these:

so drop into Space #35 and say hello....

Til then, I'll be packing....

I will leave you with a little slide show Jenny of Live Artfully put together of the Spring show...

Just to leave no doubt as to why you must will be at this event!

See ya!

my new toy...

While I wait for the finishing touches to be put on my new website, I thought I would share my newest obsession with you.....

All my life I have wanted to learn the art of silk screening.

Every fall when the local community college sends out its catalogue of new classes, I threaten to sign up for Silk Screening 101.

Then, one day several months ago, I saw an add for this on TV:

One thing you don't know about me is, I am a sucker for an info-mercial.

After gasping at the price, I told my dear, sweet husband I knew what I wanted for my birthday.

Forget that it was January and my birthday is in March....

I said (in my best QVC, HSN host voice), "Look at all it comes with!"...

...."and look at all you can DO with it!"

Of course he said "Sure!" (because that's the kind of guy he is...)

And the rest is history.

Well, not really, because right after it came, we left to go on a long road trip, and when we returned, I got busy with my jewelry, my daughter had her baby, my house needed a good cleaning, the dog ate my homework.......yada, yada, yada.

The truth is, this machine was HUGE and intimidated me.

A couple of weeks ago I decided to take the plunge and order some canvas bag blanks to silk screen on. (yep, more $$$ invested)

Then I designed a graphic to print onto the bags.

Then I watched the instructional DVD for the 100th time.

Then I dove in....

Suffice it to say I am hooked.

These will soon be available for sale.
I don't know if you noticed, but I shamelessly added MY NEW WEBSITE address on the bottom.

But don't go there yet.....

I'll let you know when.

See ya!
ps: I just ordered beautiful canvas apron blanks....just wait until you see what I have come up with for mothers and daughters!
Stay tuned.....
